Teaching Artist

StudioUs is seeking a fun-loving teaching-artist to join our Andersonville studio! Our teaching-artists work with students age 4 to adult to develop skills in drawing and painting using traditional teaching methods along with our exclusive art instruction app. Applicants must have experience in drawing, watercolor and acrylic painting, and various dry media (charcoal, chalk pastel, oil pastel, colored pencils, etc.). Applicants must also be at-ease working with children.

Following paid training, our new teaching-artist will be responsible for teaching afternoon and evening classes Tuesday – Friday and Sunday each week throughout the summer, and may continue teaching limited classes throughout the school year. Pay is hourly, starting at $13/hr during training, and increasing to $15/hr when you begin teaching.

Art students are encouraged to apply, as this is an excellent opportunity for a student seeking a part-time position with more availability in the summer, and flexibility in scheduling during school. Our students form strong relationships with our teachers, so we encourage applicants who anticipate maintaining the same position for a year or more.

To apply, please send your resume and three samples of your work to our director, Dr. Rachel Myers at studiouschicago@gmail.com, with the subject “Teaching-Artist Application.”
